Fermentation – enzyme production for technical applications

Efficiently producing large amounts of an enzyme first requires the optimization of the fermentation process in which the enzyme is produced by the respective microorganism. Then one must also develop an economical method for extraction of the technically useful enzyme yield from the accumulated biomass used in the fermentation. Evocatal has many years of experience in both fermentation optimization and enzyme preparation. We have the capability to produce enzyme amounts of up to several mega-units at our own facility. For industrial production in the giga-unit range, evocatal works together with other highly-qualified partners.

Biocatalysis – enantioselective synthesis of fine chemicals

Using enzymes in the synthesis of fine chemicals requires no extra outlay for special equipment. As with any chemical synthesis however, biocatalysis does need to go through process development in order to optimize space-time yield and product quality, both of which in the long run determine cost-effectiveness. At evocatal, we have extensive experience in the development and preparation of highly productive biocatalytic processes for making top-quality chiral fine chemicals. We synthesize runs of up to several kilograms of product in our own facility. For projects requiring commercial production in the ton range, we work together with certified European and international partners.
