company profile

The evocatal GmbH is a spin-off company of the Institute of Molecular Enzyme Technology, Heinrich-Heine-University of Duesseldorf. Founded in 2006 it started its activities in the field of industrial biotechnology (white biotechnology) right from the beginning.
The evocatal GmbH is involved in the development of white biotechnology networks and is a founding member of industry- and research-clusters like CLIB2021, Biokatalyse2021 and IMG e.V. (Industrieverbund mikrobielle Genomforschung).

Our company has specialized in enzyme technology and connects, just as the company name indicates, evolution and catalysis, thus focussing the production of taylor-made processes of fine chemicals with the help of biocatalysts. evocatal has set up a portfolio of proprietary biocatalysts (evozymes®) which are updated continuously with newly developed items. Moreover, various anaerobic reporter proteins which are available under the trade name evoglow®  widen the range of products.

Furthermore, the company makes use of unique and company-owned techniques to identify new biocatalysts from nature as well as their production in bacterial hosts. Our technologies can be provided to interested clients in the form of a research-cooperations.
